Did you hear the story of the Johnston twins? As like each other as two new pins…. if not, it’s likely you have at least heard of the story, as Willy Russell’s “Blood Brothers” is nearly 30 years old.

MAMT in association with Experience Theatre presents the original non-musical play version of the hugely successful musical. Set in Liverpool in post-war 1960s Britain, it is the heart-warming tale of twin brothers who are separated at birth when their mother decides to have one of them adopted and what happens when they are brought together again through friendship. However, their familial relationship is concealed by their guardians who strive to keep them apart because of superstitious beliefs. As they grow older, leading ostensibly separate lives, they begin to gravitate back towards each other, until they eventually become friends. They are caught up in a vicious love triangle with Mickey’s childhood sweetheart Linda. Mickey’s depression pushes Linda into the arms of the conciliatory Eddie. A desperate Mickey takes drastic action against his fraternal twin which will ultimately expose their true identities.

Through flashbacks to her life in India and fl ash forwards to her future in the UK, the picture is painted of someone caught between two worlds, races and cultures.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's life, Little Women follows the adventures of sisters, Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March. Begrudgingly taking this advice, Jo weaves the story of herself and her sisters and their experience growing up in Civil War America.

This new adaptation of Shakespeare's 'The Tempest' has been commissioned by the Almagro International Festival of Classical Theatre in Spain, the Bristol Shakespeare Festival and Madrid Fringe Festival.

Prospero is an elderly man living in a sea-side nursing home. Hours and days blur into each other, punctuated by meals, matron’s medication rounds, daytime TV and infrequent visits by family members. Propsero’s mind wanders.

In this unique adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest, Tempestory focuses on the original play’s exploration of family, forgiveness and surrendering one’s life work.

The story explores the warmth, amusement and fruitful relationships possible in the face of adversity.

Bernarda’s husband is dead. Now she alone rules her household and the lives of her five daughters. A period of eight years mourning will be observed without contact with the outside world and the men who might bring them ruin.

That is except for Angustias, whose inheritance has attracted a wealthy local suitor. As the wedding approaches, Bernarda struggles to retain her suffocating grip on the family and on these women whose appetite for defiance is growing.

Lorca’s final masterpiece is a bitter and darkly comic tragedy that charts the tyranny, jealousy and desperate struggle for freedom that will tear Bernarda and her daughters apart.
